Firefox is faster, safer, and easier to browse the web with.  When you use Firefox in Linux you can't get any safer. Firefox has many more options than internet exporer(IE) and Firefox also allows websites to be more interactive.

Download Firefox for windows or Linux Mint which includes Firefox.  Browsing the web with Linux Mint is simple : Menu > Internet > Firefox

Install Linux Mint 7 from livecd in windows vista

Download Linux Mint 7 it installs just like Ubuntu does.  It's a livecd so you can boot it and test it out running from the cd before you install.   There are a few extras in Linux Mint that are not included by default in Ubuntu.  After you have downloaded and burned a linux mint cd you can eject and reinsert the cd to autostart the install. 

You will see the following screen and click run lmmenu.exe

Vista will ask you if you want to allow, click allow then you have the following 3 choices.

The 1st way is the best Demo and full install, but the second is the easiest.   Reboot and try the demo if it works for you then install.  If the reboot doesn't boot you to linux mint then choose the 2nd option install inside windows.
